My favorite prof! Sockbeson is a brilliant Indigenous scholar; one of the only people who teaches about Indigenous Knowledge & anti-racism. She taught me so much & is fun, engaging, & positive--she understands the course topics on a personal level--the loss faced by Indigenous people + the strengths & rich cultural values of Indigenous communities.

Rebecca was an amazing, caring prof. This class requires you to let go of personal bias and consider other perspectives which is crucial as a teacher. The class consisted of group presentations to learn the material which was nice because you got to hear other viewpoints. Rebecca shared traditional knowledge & practices, giving cultural insight.

Rebecca is a really great professor. She is great at explaining concepts, connecting course material to readings, and giving everyone in the course a chance to explain their thinking. She also really challenges you to question your current beliefs and be open to listening about others. She does ask for a lot of reading, but there are no exams!
